Psychiatric treatment services company extends its offering into substance-abuse rehabilitation with purchase of facility in Opelousas, La.
SHREVEPORT, LA., July 1, 2011 – Seaside Healthcare LLC, a network of Louisiana facilities offering psychiatric treatment services, today announced it has acquired New Beginnings Recovery Center, a substance-abuse treatment facility specializing in the treatment of adolescents.
“New Beginnings Recovery Center is positioned to help a chronically underserved population, adolescent addicts and the people who care about them,” said Franklin Roemer II, the managing member of Seaside Healthcare and a company co-founder.
“We hope to build New Beginnings into one of the leading teen residential treatment programs in the Southwest and one recognized nationwide for teen rehabilitation.”
Roemer said New Beginnings will be led by Seaside Healthcare’s chief operating officer, Johnny Patout, who has been working in the field of addiction for nearly three decades. A Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Patout has provided training for substance abuse counselors and is a sought-after public speaker.
Patout said, “Considerable improvements already have been made to the physical grounds,” Patout said, “and we have big plans for the future.” Those plans include:
- Complete renovations to patients living quarters
- An Observation Room for monitoring new patients
- Significant landscaping improvements on the 20-acre campus
- A fitness center and media room for patients.
Patout said also plans to emphasize staffing, which will include an on-campus psychiatrist, all master’s level therapists, and nurses available to patients around the clock, seven days of the week.
