BATON ROUGE, LA:  Seaside Health System of Baton Rouge, a member of the multi-state behavioral healthcare company, Seaside Healthcare, headquartered in Shreveport, Louisiana, has been awarded the Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval for the organizations’ commitment to providing safe and high-quality patient care.  The Joint Commission is the premier accrediting body for healthcare organizations in the United States,  setting the standards for the delivery of care services. 

Seaside Health System, according to Kyle Hyduke, MHA, Administrator, underwent a rigorous, onsite review that began on November 6, 2020.  During the visit, a team of the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare   Organization reviewers evaluated compliance with Seaside Health System’s standards spanning several areas, including; emergency management, environment of care, infection prevention and control, leadership, medication management, and rights and responsibilities of the individual. Hyduke commented on the accreditation, “Seaside Health System is pleased to receive accreditation from The Joint Commission. Our staff, of whom I am very proud, continues to put best practices in place to improve care for our patients. They have worked extremely hard in putting our patients’ wellbeing and safety first, especially during this pandemic.  The accreditation by the Joint Commission is a reflection of their dedication and commitment. ” 

The Joint Commission’s standards are developed in consultation with health care experts and providers, measurement experts, and patients. They are informed by scientific literature and expert consensus to help health care organizations measure, assess and improve performance. The surveyors also conducted onsite observations and interviews.
